FAQ
A few helpful things to know when collecting from Stella & Dorrie Studio
Do you sell prints of original paintings?
Each original painting is one-of-a-kind — it carries the time and place it was created with it. I do offer fine art prints of some pieces — check the Giclée Prints collection — and I reserve the right to offer prints of any painting I create down the line. When you collect an original, you're getting something unique, with a note about its story.
What medium do you use?
Most of my original work is gouache, layered with colored pencil, pan pastels, and Neocolor IIs. I occasionally work in watercolor too, depending on what the piece calls for.
How do I know the colors will work in my space?
I do my best to represent artwork colors accurately through careful editing and consistent lighting. Because monitors and phones display color differently (and because lighting affects how paint reads), the artwork may look slightly different in person. Originals also have real surface texture and subtle variations that photos can't fully capture. If color matching is important for your space, please reach out before purchasing and I can describe the piece in more detail.
Are your originals framed?
Unless otherwise noted, originals are sold unframed so you can choose a frame that fits your space and style. I'm always happy to recommend "off the shelf" framing options or tips if you need guidance.
Will my artwork be signed?
Yes! All original artwork is signed and dated, either on the front or back, depending on the composition. Each piece also includes a note about the story behind it.
How is my artwork packaged?
Originals are wrapped with great care to ensure they arrive safely. Each piece is placed in a clear protective bag, then sandwiched between acid-free backing boards and gently wrapped in tissue. 12x12 and 11×14 pieces ship in the Snug & Secure tier for extra protection. Everything is packaged in a rigid mailer, sealed, and clearly marked "Do Not Bend."
When will my order ship?
Orders typically ship within 3–5 business days. You'll receive a tracking number as soon as your package is on its way.
Do you ship internationally?
At this time, I only ship within the United States.
What if my artwork is damaged in transit?
I take packaging seriously, but if your order arrives damaged, please email me at miranda@stellaanddorriestudio.com within 4 days of delivery with a few photos. I'll work with you to make it right.
What is your return policy?
Because each piece is handmade and original, all sales are final. If something goes wrong, please reach out so I can help.
Can I use your artwork or photos?
All artwork and images are the intellectual property of Stella & Dorrie Studio and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used for commercial purposes without permission. If you're interested in licensing or collaborations, please reach out directly.
